Setting Digital Watches

Though digital watches come in a great variety of designs with a large assortment of features, they share common functions that will allow you to set them quite easily even if they are made by different manufacturers. For instance, most digital watches have several modes of operation. Some of the usual modes are current time, date, stopwatch, timer, and alarm. Look for a button on your watch that is labelled “mode” then press it several times so you can see what the available operations are. Once you have found the mode that you want, you can stop there.

Next, search for a button marked as “set” or “adjust” on the watch. Press down on it and hold the button for a few seconds until the mode you have selected will start to flash. In a lot of watches, you would need to press mode again in order to choose the item you wish to adjust such as minutes or hours. Once a certain item is flashing, this typically means that you are able to make adjustments or changes to it. Look for another button that will let you change the parameters of the item you want. This may not be labelled, so you might have to experiment by pressing a few other buttons before you find the right one. Make the changes you want and, once you are done, press “set” again.
